Welcome to Amble, the ‘friendliest’ port in England. Welcome, also, to Edwin Haven B&B, the dog- friendliest B&B in Amble! Our small establishment is set up to ensure both you and your four-legged friend have a fabulous holiday and make the most of your time in the wonderful county of Northumberland. Of course, if you don’t have a pooch, you are still very welcome to come and stay with us!
Like many businesses, we have had to review and update our policies & practices in light of the Covid-19 pandemic. We have undertaken a robust risk assessment and implemented a number of changes to protect our guests and reduce the risk of infection transmission to a minimum. The main modifications are: An enhanced cleaning and disinfection regime, taking account of current best practise guidance and using appropriate cleaning products that conform to the expected standards. This includes the installation of hand sanitising dispensers. Bookings must be for a minimum stay of 3 days . This will help to reduce the rapid turnover of guests and allow us to factor in a 24 hour period between guest bookings so we have sufficient time to fully clean and disinfect the property. We will no longer be providing face-to-face services (at check-in or through the provision of cooked breakfasts). Please see our Covid 19 Response page for more details. If you have any Covid-19 specific questions or require further information, please do not hesitate to contact us. Despite these necessary changes, we still think you will have a wonderful time in this fantastic county! There is lots to do in and around Amble, but it is also the ideal base from which to explore all that Northumberland has to offer. Both the Northumberland Coastal Path and Route 1 of the National Cycle Network pass through the town. As well as enjoying all the fun of being by the seaside, you can travel: North to Warkworth, Craster, Beadnell, Seahouses, Bamburgh, Lindisfarne /Holy Island and Berwick-upon- Tweed; South to Low Hauxley, Druridge Bay, Cresswell, Newbiggin-by-the-Sea, Blyth, Whitley Bay and Newcastle- upon-Tyne: West to Alnwick, Rothbury/Northumberland National Park, Morpeth, Hexham /Hadrian’s Wall and Kielder Water & Forest Park.

We are proud to be a very dog friendly establishment and your four-legged friend(s) are most welcome to stay with us at no extra charge. Please note, there is no outside space for you to exercise and toilet your dog at the property but there is a green space two minutes walk from the front door for early morning or late evening relief plus miles of beautiful sandy beaches for exercise and enjoyment within 15 minutes walk.
Unfortunately, we are not able to let you leave your dog(s) unattended in the B&B at any time.
As we only have one double letting room, our set up is ideal for couples or solo travellers – and affords you complete privacy and security. We offer more than the average B&B, as you have a suite of rooms to spread out into during your stay, but we are not quite full self-catering, as there is no kitchen or cooking facilities for guests. Please check our Accommodation & Facilities page for more details.
